Jakarta – Ahead of the match between the Indonesian U-23 National Team and the South Korean U-23 National Team in the U-23 Asian Cup, the president-elect for the 2024-2029 term, Prabowo Subianto, has called on the Indonesian public to pray for Indonesia’s success in winning the game.
When asked for a score prediction, he emphasized the importance of Indonesia defeating South Korea.
“The main thing is to win,” said Prabowo on Thursday (April 25) after receiving NasDem Chairman Surya Paloh at his residence.
The match between the Indonesian U-23 and South Korean U-23 teams will take place at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium in Doha, Qatar, scheduled for Friday, April 26, 2024.
Previously, the Indonesian U-23 team made history by advancing to the quarterfinals of the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup after defeating Jordan U-23 with a score of 4-1. This achievement marks the first time the Indonesian team has competed in the U-23 Asian Cup.
Earlier on Wednesday, Prabowo also offered prayers for Indonesia’s victory over South Korea.
“Tomorrow (early Friday morning), our national team, the U-23s, in Doha will face South Korea. We pray for our national team. It’s very important,” said Prabowo after a press conference at the PKB headquarters in Central Jakarta on Wednesday (April 24).
