President Prabowo Subianto recently met Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) Sakti Wahyu Trenggono and Deputy Minister of KKP Didit Herdiawan at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta to discuss the unauthorized sea fence construction in Tangerang, Banten Province. Sakti revealed that the construction did not have the necessary permits, which goes against the regulations outlined in the Job Creation Law. Consequently, the construction has been sealed while further investigation is carried out to establish ownership and legality. President Prabowo has directed a detailed legal examination of the situation, involving cooperation with parties such as the Indonesian Navy and the Marine Security Agency (Bakamla). The objective is to ensure adherence to legal processes and prevent potential negative consequences like erosion. This proactive approach underscores the government’s dedication to upholding regulations and safeguarding marine resources.
