President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, actively monitors food prices by regularly checking in with Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman. In a recent interview with senior journalists at his residence in Hambalang, West Java, Prabowo revealed that he contacts the minister almost every night to inquire about the prices of essential commodities such as beef and dry paddy. Stressing the significance of food security in the country, he drew from past food crises for insights. During the interview, Prabowo expressed his satisfaction with the stable food prices leading up to Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri, particularly during the fasting month of Ramadan. This Eid marks his first as president, and he commended his team for their hard work in achieving price stability and other milestones in just 150 days. Prabowo also praised the dedication and support of his appointed ministers as key drivers of their progress.
