President Prabowo Subianto from Indonesia visited the Palácio do Planalto in Brasília to meet with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in a state visit filled with solemnity and dignity. The Indonesian leader arrived at 10:35 a.m. local time and was welcomed with full military honors by President Lula. Dressed in a dark navy suit and traditional peci, Prabowo walked past the Honor Guard of Brazil as the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya, was played alongside Brazil’s national flag being raised. A moment of respect was observed as both leaders stood in silence during the anthems, showcasing their deep respect for each other and their countries.
Following the welcoming ceremony, President Prabowo and President Lula entered the palace, exchanged warm greetings, and posed for official photographs before meeting with their respective delegations. The Indonesian delegation included high-ranking officials such as Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia. On the Brazilian side, Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira and other key ministers were present.
The state visit was marked by a ceremonial performance by the Brazilian military band and mounted cavalry, who proudly flew the Indonesian flag from the palace balcony, symbolizing the growing friendship between the two G20 and BRICS member states. The visit strengthened diplomatic ties and highlighted the importance of international cooperation between Indonesia and Brazil.
