President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, showed his support for Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s initiative to bring a large group of Brazilian entrepreneurs to Indonesia during their recent bilateral meeting. Prabowo highlighted the potential for enhanced cooperation between the two nations, specifically in the areas of trade and investment. He emphasized the importance of turning agreements into tangible actions to strengthen economic ties between the two countries. Recognizing the shared interests and abundant resources of both Indonesia and Brazil, Prabowo expressed admiration for Brazil’s advancements in agriculture and bioenergy. He also expressed Indonesia’s interest in learning from Brazil’s experience and expertise in these fields. President Lula’s willingness to support Indonesia’s efforts to send technical teams to study Brazilian innovations and technologies was also acknowledged by Prabowo. The meeting took place during Prabowo’s visit to Brazil for the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, with President Lula planning a return visit to Indonesia in October. Prabowo concluded the meeting by expressing intentions to host a special celebration for President Lula’s upcoming 80th birthday in Jakarta.
