Saimin of Indramayu: Palace Ceremony Honor from President Prabowo

Saimin, an elderly man from Indramayu, West Java, was filled with emotion and pride as he witnessed the lowering of the national flag, the Sang Saka Merah Putih, at Merdeka Palace during Indonesia’s 80th Independence Day commemoration. Despite usually watching the event on TV at home every year, Saimin decided to come to the palace in person this time to experience it firsthand. He expressed his joy and gratitude towards President Prabowo Subianto, describing him as a leader who is close to the people and cares for those who are struggling. Saimin highlighted the president’s hard work, noting how he tirelessly visits communities across the country, especially those affected by disasters, which motivates people to enhance agricultural production in the village. On this Independence Day, Saimin emphasized the importance of unity among Indonesians, stating that as a nation that has been independent for 80 years, they should stay united and avoid internal conflicts. Concluding his story, Saimin expressed his appreciation to President Prabowo for inviting them to the palace.
