President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, recently appointed General Tandyo Budi as the Deputy Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). In addition, he also inaugurated six new Regional Military Command (Kodam) commanders, 20 brigade commanders, and 100 Territorial Development Battalions. During the ceremony, Prabowo awarded the Bintang Sakti Medal of Honor to soldiers who displayed exceptional integrity.
Prabowo highlighted the importance of leaders leading from the front. He stated, “I have appointed commanders — brigade commanders, battalion commanders. Those chosen as leaders must lead from the front.” Prabowo emphasized that military leaders should serve as the first line of protection for their soldiers in challenging situations.
The president insisted that commanders should not remain behind the lines but rather lead from within the troops. He urged military leaders to care for and train their troops as if they were their own children. Prabowo also reminded the leaders of the TNI’s identity and mission as a people’s army that serves and defends the citizens.
