President Prabowo Subianto expressed his gratitude and pride towards all officers and participants involved in the 80th Independence Day ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. He commended the discipline, order, and enthusiasm displayed throughout the day, emphasizing his appreciation for their efforts. The president also instructed Ceremony Commander Colonel (Infantry) Slamet to personally thank each participant for their role in making the ceremony a success.
Following the president’s instructions, 80 percent of the invitations for the event were allocated to the general public. The day’s festivities included a Flag and Proclamation Procession from the National Monument to the Palace, cultural performances, free culinary offerings, and a fireworks display around Monas. The celebrations will culminate with the United Independence Carnival on August 17, 2025, marking the peak of the 80th Independence Day commemorations. The carnival is set to span from Monas along Jalan MH Thamrin to the HI Roundabout and Semanggi, symbolizing the unity and spirit of the nation’s independence.
